Strawman

from: Strawman
Strawman feels stiff in the morning
he shakes the rain out of his arms
the wild wind will come without warning
Strawman knows it'll do him harm
He ties little weights to his body
bags of sand to weigh him down
the wind picks up like a demon on the field
clutching at Strawman who's grabbing at the ground

Strawman
look out they're gonna knock you down
Strawman
you're hitting the ground without a sound
Strawman
your little feet are made of clay
Strawman
ain't got no brain anyway
All you got is a great big heart
and even that is made of straw
the wind will blow you apart
Strawman

Strawman puts himself back together
he finds a leg so he can stand
he doesn't understand the weather
puts some straw back in his hands
the birds come down to taunt him
to peck the seeds from in his clothes
he walks in a great big circle
waving away the wicked crows

Strawman
look out they're gonna knock you down
Strawman
you're hitting the ground without a sound
Strawman
your little feet are made of clay
Strawman
ain't got no brain anyway
All you got is a great big heart
and even that is made of straw
the wind will blow you apart
Strawman

Night comes like a dream to the field
without a sound - without a law
Strawman sits alone in the weeds
dreaming the world is made of straw

Strawman
look out they're gonna knock you down
Strawman
you're hitting the ground without a sound
Strawman
your little feet are made of clay
Strawman
ain't got no brain anyway
All you got is a great big heart
and even that is made of straw
the wind will blow you apart
gonna pick you up and let you fall
All you got is a great big heart
